PLEASE watch your speed in the neighborhood. There are many areas where it is tempting to speed up, but children live and run and play around these streets! Please keep it below 25 mph, especially when you see the little ones outside!

Rivertowne on the Wando is in the Charleston County School District. Charleston County School District is divided into eight (8) Constituent Districts. Combined, all eight districts educate approximately 48,500 PK-12 students in 42 Elementary Schools, 13 Middle Schools, 8 High Schools, 12 Magnet Schools (applications are required), 4 Charter Schools, and 7 Programs. Yard of the Month

The Yard of the Month committee tours our neighborhood at the beginning of each month to find the "best looking" yard for that particular month. Criteria for judging is based on overall look, flowers in bloom (depending on the season, of course), neatly trimmed bushes, no dead palm fronds or other dead tree branches, no children's toys littering the front yard and nice looking lawn (in season).

Folks can rest assured that the committee looks at every house in the subdivision. We slowly tour the neighborhood and then go back to homes we feel worthy of the prize. After careful evaluation, our decision is made, the Yard of the Month sign is put in place, and we ring the doorbell of the winner. (Sometimes, no one is home, but if they are we like to announce in person that their yard has won). In addition, the winnng home's address is put on the bulletin board. You may only receive this award once in any given calendar year.

All Yard of the Month recipients are eligible for "Best Decorated House" at Holiday time!
